Britak Initial Public Offer (IPO) officially Launched
Prime Minister Raila Odinga
officially launched the British American Investment Company (Kenya Limited)
Initial Public offer at a colorful ceremony held at the Norfolk Hotel on
Tuesday morning.
The IPO seeks release over 650
Million shares with an aim of raising to
raise 5.8 Billion Shillings that will be used to fund the firms ambitious
growth strategy. Each share will be priced at Sh9 during the offer period that
kicked off from 12th July and runs for a period of 3 weeks until August 5.
In his speech, Mr. Odinga
assured thanked the firm for its
continued confidence in the Kenyan economy which he said was on course to full
recovery.
"We are on the runway ready to
take off and have reached a stage of no return'' Said Odinga.
Present during the launch were Group Managing Director Mr. Benson Wairegi
,Mr Peter Munga- the company's Director in Micro-Enterprise Support Programme
Trust (MESPT) and Chairman BA group of companies Mr. Dawood Rawat. Mr. Lawrence Kibet represented Image Registrars.
Shareholders can now access
application forms from their brokers/agents in order to participate in the IPO.
Brokers/Agents can access an electronic copy of the manual from the downloads
section of this site. An electronic prospectus will also be available for
prospective shareholders to download.
In case of a refund ,shareholders
will ONLY be allowed to use Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) hence the accuracy
of the bank details is paramount when filling the form.
Shareholders are also advised to use the opportunity to update their details with their brokers e.g Address and confirm the accuracy of the existing details.
